Registration has opened for Amerimold, the annual event for the plastic injection mold manufacturing industry. More than 200 suppliers of equipment and services for mold manufacturing are expected to exhibit at Amerimold 2018, including 3D printing equipment providers and additive manufacturing (AM) service bureaus.

The program also includes a number of Tech Talks, short presentations hosted on the show floor. This year’s Tech Talks are sponsored by Autodesk, and highlight topics vetted by Christina Fuges, editor-in-chief of MoldMaking Technology and a contributor to AM

A panel on “Avenues to Additive Manufacturing” is among the offered sessions this year. On Wednesday, June 13, at 11 a.m., representatives from Proper Group International, Avante, Linear AMS and Forecast 3D will share strategies and insights for mold shops interested in 3D printing of injection molds and production parts. The presentation will cover 3D printing materials for moldmaking; applications for hybrid laser sintering and milling equipment; the design and 3D printing of conformal-cooled inserts; and the uses and limitations of polymer 3D printing as an alternative to injection molding.

Hosted by MoldMaking Technology, Plastics Technology and Modern Machine Shop (all sister publications of Additive Manufacturing), the show takes place June 13-14, 2018, at the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi, Michigan. Register for Amerimold here.
