Modern Machine Shop’s Top Shops event is returning to IMTS in 2022 at Chicago’s McCormick Place, Sept.13. This half-day workshop is designed exclusively for owners, executives and managers at job shops and contract manufacturers. The technical program and peer-to-peer discussion are designed to deliver practical solutions and business strategies that complement the variety of cutting-edge technologies on display at IMTS.

Panelists and speakers are handpicked by the Modern Machine Shop staff to represent the very best in the industry. These experts will discuss topics such as 5-axis machining, automation, supply chain security, digital workflow, workforce development, marketing and more.

“Top Shops focuses on real world examples of what’s working and what isn’t,” says Matt Danford, Top Shops program director. “Our speakers have decades of experience and are sharing what it takes to improve every aspect of running a machining business.”

The program includes current and previous Top Shops Award honorees. The awards are given every year to shops that excel in one of the four core categories — Machining Technology, Business Strategies, Shopfloor Practices and Human Resources. The 2022 awards will be handed out during this year’s event.
