WFL Millturn Technologies has equipped its M80 Millturn machine with additive manufacturing capabilities via an integrated 6-kW, high-performance laser. The laser makes it possible to achieve industrial material melting as well as precise and low-distortion hardening of surfaces prone to wear. The cladding technology is said to enable high build-up rates through the use of the linear ways as well as the many NC axes of the machine. According to WFL, nearly any geometric form, including complex cooling channels or curved connecting flanges, can be efficiently manufactured.
