ParaMatters’ CogniCAD 2.1 platform automatically generates ready-to-3D print or investment cast high-performance, lightweighted structures for aerospace, automotive and other applications both as a cloud-based service or localized enterprise solution.

The designs generated by CogniCAD 2.1 are said to be smooth and watertight STL models ready for additive manufacturing (AM) or STEP files that are compliant with all CAD systems. CogniCAD 2.1 imports CAD files into the platform, and then defines loading and design criteria. Users can obtain generative designs within minutes that are verified by built-in Finite-Element Analysis.The software offers an expanded range of loading conditions including thermal loads and force/moments via remote points, existing acceleration and pressure.

CogniCAD 2.1 also offers broader design for additive manufacturing and investment casting with functional design capabilities including stress, compliance and deformation constraints. By minimizing unsupported areas or supports volume, CogniCAD is said to generate optimal design and model orientation for AM while highlighting areas requiring reinforcement. CogniCAD 2.1’s 2X computational speedup enables users to select the combination between resolution and speed of computation.

The CogniCAD 2.1 update can be accessed as a pay-per-design, cloud-based service.
