Multistation Offers Second Life Program to Buy and Sell Used AM Printers
Formnext 2024: The company’s Second Life division created a confidential online marketplace where sellers can offer their machines and buyers can find machine the most adapted for their needs.
Multistation Second Life offers a marketplace platform for companies to buy and sell used additive manufacturing (AM) machines.
Drawing on its experience gained from dozens of successful international transactions, Multistation Second Life classifies its range of second-hand machines into three categories:
- Bronze: Machines offered as is
- Silver: Audited machines with benchmark capacity
- Gold: A complete service, including inspection, benchmarking, dismantling, full logistical management, reassembly and assistance with restarting
The aim is to offer a secure, confidential service to those involved in these international transactions.
“We offer a genuine appraisal and evaluation service for these technological assets,” says Jean Bertrand Lefebvre, manager of Multistation's Second Life Division. “We also want to address the market to first-time buyers, who require more support than existing customers looking to increase their capacity.’
To meet this demand, the company is calling on a network of independent experts or on the manufacturers themselves, who recognize the need for a third-party to handle such transactions.
Multistation will highlight its services at Formnext, Nov. 19-22, 2024, in Frankfurt, Germany.
