Arburg‘s large Freeformer 300-3X machine is said to produce complex and durable functional parts in hard/soft combinations from qualified standard plastics and a support material. It is said to offer more space and higher temperatures in the build chamber and can be automatically integrated into networked production lines.
The designation 300 relates to the 3D printer’s available surface area in cm2, about 50 percent larger the Freeformer 200-3X. The new machine has three directly heated discharge units. The modern operating panel comprises a robust industrial PC with a multi-touch screen. The closed cooling system is available with an optional industrial-grade cooling water connection, enabling the processing of high-temperature materials at build chamber temperatures up to 200°C, the company says.
The two-part build chamber door features automatic opening and closing as well as optional robot interfaces, enabling automation of the additive manufacturing process and integration of the Freeformer in complete production lines.
Users can access Arburg's material database of reference materials or use the open Freeformer system to process their own original materials. The system also enables operators to optimize droplet size and process control for themselves.
