3D Platform Extruder Increases Volumetric Throughput

The high-flow air-cooled (HFA) extruder is said to double the volumetric throughput of the company’s previous generation of extruders.

3D Platform has produced a high-flow air-cooled (HFA) extruder that is the first in its line of high-performance, high-speed extruders. This extruder design is said to double the volumetric throughput of the company’s previous generation of extruders.
 
The extruder comes standard on the 3D Platform 300 Series WorkbenchPro 3D printer and is also available as a field-installed upgrade kit for all 3D Platform printers back to the very first generation. This upgrade is said to increase throughput by four times when compared the original V6 extruder.
 
The extruder is designed to produce maximum output with high reliability and features a gear reduction transmission that is said to prevent filament stripping and slipping. The company says that it can print layer resolutions as low as 50 microns. The extruder also provides continuous duty cycle for commercial digital manufacturing environments. Nozzles are available in 0.4-, 0.6- and 2.5-mm sizes.
