Machine tool manufacturer Sodick Inc. has announced the implementation of a new service structure for its “One Process Machine” (OPM) line of metal 3D printers. The service strategy offers three layers of support, including Sodick’s OPM department, Sodick Japan’s DDM department and Sodick’s own OPM Laboratory.

The OPM department will provide front-line support and immediate response, Monday through Friday, specializing in operation and programming. For particularly difficult support needs and unusually complex applications, Sodick Japan’s DDM department engineers will supplement the U.S. team to provide solutions. Finally, the OPM Laboratory provides experience with specialty mold development for consultations on advanced and specialized applications.

Together the service network offers the flexibility needed to support customers of various experience levels as they adopt this new technology. All layers of support may be accessed by phone.
