Siemens PLM Early Adopter Program Targets AM Simulation
Early adopters are previewing enhanced Simcenter 3D capabilities through hands-on workshops throughout the year.
Siemens PLM has announced that a select group of its software users from the United States, Germany, the UK and Sweden are previewing enhanced Simcenter 3D capabilities through an early adopter program. These customers, said to operate in industries including energy, aerospace, automotive and engineering consulting, will participate in hands-on workshops to work through practical examples and applications. The first workshop took place in Leuven, Belgium, January 13-15, 2018. More are planned for later in the year.
Siemens PLM Software is enhancing its portfolio of design, simulation and manufacturing solutions to accelerate the industrialization of additive manufacturing (AM), specifically in the area of simulation. Simcenter 3D capabilities are being enhanced to include the simulation of AM process for powder-bed fusion. These capabilities enable engineers to perform thermal assessments of the build, evaluate part distortion and compensation and eliminate the likelihood of overheating, the company says.
