Formnext, an annual exhibition and conference for additive manufacturing (AM), takes place November 13-16, 2018, in Frankfurt, Germany. The show encompasses more than 470 exhibitors showcasing 3D printing technologies and developments (view highlights from Formnext 2017), as well as conference sessions highlighting trends and issues in AM. Topics of discussion include industrial tooling, materials, mechanical engineering, metrology, prototyping, product processing and accessories.

The event also offers an introductory seminar series titled Discover3DPrinting for attendees interested in adding 3D printing to their production processes. Additional highlights include the fourth-annual Formnext Start-up Challenge for businesses less than five years old and the Purmundus Challenge highlighting innovative ideas in design made possible through AM.

The international event attracted more than 20,000 visitors in 2017, 46 percent of which came from countries other than Germany. Attendees include professionals in design and product development, industrial tooling, production, quality management and measurement technology among other disciplines.
