CECIMO, the European Association of the Machine Tool Industries, has announced a second Additive Manufacturing European Conference. The event will be held May 25 in Brussels at the European Parliament.

Following the success of a similar conference in 2015, the conference this year will aim to provide a forum and a context in which European industry leaders and policy makers can interact toward developing and furthering a European strategy for additive manufacturing. Some of the takeaways from last year’s conference can be found here. Organizers of the event this year say discussion topics being planned include:

  • General principles of an EU strategy on AM
  • The European Commission’s support for AM and how to enhance coordination between stakeholders
  • Regulatory aspects
  • Standards
  • The importance of additive for European competitiveness
  • Increasing market acceptance of AM
