The Additive Manufacturing Users Group (AMUG) has announced that online registration is now available for its 2020 Education & Training Conference, which will be held in Chicago, Illinois, March 22 – 26, 2020. The AMUG Conference, now in its 32nd year, is a users’ event that is open to owners and operators of industrial additive manufacturing technologies used for professional purposes.

AMUG Conference

The AMUG Conference is a gathering of additive manufacturing users of all experience levels that share information and insights to help one another. Registration for 2020 is now open.

The AMUG Conference is distinct from the countless additive manufacturing (AM) events held around the globe. It is a gathering of AM users, of all experience levels, that assemble and band together to provide and share valuable insights and experiences to help one another. Through dialogue from the stage and conversations during breaks, meals and networking activities, AM users share expertise, best practices, real-world results, challenges and application developments.

Carl Dekker, AMUG president says, “What makes the AMUG Conference work — what makes it different — is the sharing and engagement by our members. The conference is an experience … made possible by open and honest discussions of the technology, its implementation and its operation.”

The AMUG Conference will include technical sessions and hands-on workshops designed to help users get more from, and do more with, their systems. Building on its very successful 2019 event, AMUG is adjusting its 2020 conference program to deliver more training and hands-on experiences. For example, the Training Lab, which was introduced in 2019, will offer an engaging training environment where the AM tools are the focal point of the information exchange.

The conference agenda is expected to offer nearly 200 presentations and hands-on workshops. One highlight will be the sixth annual Innovators Showcase. The showcase is an on-stage interview, which has the feel of a fireside chat, where attendees get to know an innovator in the industry and discover insights from that individual’s experiences. The conference program also includes the AMUGexpo, which is expected to have 140 participating companies and takes place on Sunday, March 22 and Monday, March 23.

Through AMUG’s Innovators Award, Technical Competition and DINO Awards, excellence in applying additive manufacturing and contributions to the industry will be recognized. The five-day event also includes an off-site dinner gathering, networking receptions and catered meals.
