K 2016 to Highlight 3D Printing

The October trade show and conference will feature content and exhibits related to additive manufacturing.

Plastics show K 2016 will offer special events and features focused on the possibilities and limits of additive manufacturing. These include:

  • 3D fab+print, a summit that will include in-depth half-day presentations on October 20 and 25. Topics will include material and process developments, best practices, applications, market potential, and costs. The event is organized and managed by K 2016 show organizer Messe Düsseldorf in cooperation with KCI Publishing BV.
  • “Additive Manufacturing for Individualizing Series Products,” a short presentation to be held during the Industry 4.0 theme day within the “Plastics Shape the Future” special show.
  • The FabBus, a double-decker bus that was converted into a mobile laboratory by the GoetheLab of the Aachen University of Applied Sciences as part of an EU-funded project. Its lower deck features exhibits and components manufactured using additive manufacturing. The uperdeck features workstations equipped twith 3D printers for visitors to design and print their own objects.
