Cecimo to Host Live Stream of Sold-Out Additive Manufacturing and 3D Printing European Conference

The second Additive Manufacturing and 3D Printing European Conference takes place May 25 and will be streamed live via YouTube.

According to organizers Cecimo, seats for the second Additive Manufacturing and 3D Printing European Conference are now full. Taking place May 25, 2016, at the European Parliament in Brussels, Belgium, the event focuses on creating a European strategy for additive manufacturing and 3D printing. To accommodate individuals not able to be there in person, the event will also be live streamed on YouTube and the Cecimo website.

The conference is co-hosted by five Members of the Parliament from four political groups: Dario Tamburrano (EFDD), David Borrelli (EFDD), Reinhard Bütikofer (Greens/EFA), Eva Kaili (S&D) and Andrey Novakov (EPP).

A speakers’ session will tackle AM from the perspective of technology, markets, economic development and sustainability. Among the confirmed speakers are Reinhard Bütikofer, MEP; Eva Kaili, MEP; Filip Geerts, Cecimo director general; Andrey Novakov, MEP; Khalil Rouhana, director for components and systems, DG Connect, European Commission; Dario Tamburrano, MEP; and Jean-Camille Uring, executive board member of Fives Group and Cecimo past president.

During the session that follows, panelists will debate on different topics to be included in a European additive manufacturing strategy. The confirmed speakers are Antonio Alliva, co-founder of 3DiTALY; Claudio Becchetti, CrowdforAfrica 3DP project coordinator, Istituto Massimo; David Borrelli, MEP; Andrey Novakov, MEP; Phil Reeves, vice president of strategic consulting, Stratasys; Stefan Ritt, VP global marketing and communication, SLM Solutions; Martin Schäfer, senior key expert additive manufacturing at Siemens, for the AM Platform; Carla Van Steenbergen, legal counsel, Materialise; and Jeroen Wijnen, senior vice president product management at Ultimaker. Giorgio Magistrelli, additive manufacturing project manager at Cecimo, will moderate the debate.
