About the International Additive Manufacturing Award

The International Additive Manufacturing Award (IAMA) is an accolade bestowed in recognition of innovations in the field of additive manufacturing. It encourages entries featuring development projects on all aspects along the additive manufacturing value creation chain, including technological, design-related and application-referenced innovations. Entries are judged on both technical and economic aspects, plus potentials for actual use.

By partnering on the IAMA, the industry associations AMT – The Association for Manufacturing Technology and VDW – the German Machine Tool Builders’ Association hope to boost the innovative potential of additive processes and encourage scalability and commercialization of those processes in the international marketplace. The award carries with it a $100,000 prize, guaranteeing the winner $20,000 in cash and a media/marketing package worth $80,000. The IAMA will be awarded for the second time at the METAV 2016 in Düsseldorf.
