Voxeljet's PDB Process Adapts 3D Printing for Casting

Rapid 2019: Voxeljet’s Phenolic Direct Binding (PDB) process produces complex casting molds and cores.

Share

Voxeljet’s Phenolic Direct Binding (PDB) process is said to be environmentally friendly and efficient at producing complex casting molds and cores that were slow and expensive to make in the past. The PDB process accommodates a wide range of aggregates for printing and can be adapted to customer needs in terms of binder content, loss on ignition and strength. This adaptability is said to enable improved casting conditions, easier cleaning and more consistent results. Unprinted aggregates are re-used and air pollutants are reduced, resulting in a more environmentally friendly process.
