Is additive manufacturing a competitor to CNC machining? One company in a position to answer that question is Renishaw. The company has long supplied various products that support CNC machining, and now the company is also advancing as a supplier of additive manufacturing systems.
Robert Chiari, a regional sales manager with Renishaw, says there is certainly no conflict. Quite the opposite, machining businesses are increasingly looking to additive as a complement to their capabilities. He discusses this in a video conversation he recently recorded with AM.
