Evolve Additive Solutions’ Selective Thermoplastic Electrophotographic Process (STEP), is an AM technology for polymers that is said to deliver on five key attributes (cost, materials, quality, speed and scalability) manufacturers are demanding before considering additive manufacturing for production purposes for volume manufacturing. The technology takes an additive based technology and transforms it into a machine tool built to meet the expectations of a machine tool but offering the benefits of additive manufacturing.

Evolve has combined an existing time-tested 2D printing technology with its own proprietary STEP platform that truly evolves additive manufacturing far beyond existing technologies for plastic production. Industries like toy manufacturers to footwear companies, industrial organizations to aerospace and medical suppliers, are seeking to new ways to decrease time to market, reduce tooling costs, improve product design, increase product functionality and implement new material choices. Evolve's STEP technology addresses the needs for production parts, the company says.
