LSS Laser-Sinter-Service has introduced its Raptor series of polymer laser sintering platforms, consisting of two different models.

The new Raptor 84X-Q provides improvedperformance and reduced cost per part. Featuring a build envelope measuring 800 × 400 × 480 mm, the Raptor 84X-Q is equipped with a quad laser/scanner system, which allows high efficiency production rates. A dual laser/scanner model will be available with the Raptor 84X-D.

The Raptor 22X-S is a high-temperature, entry-level alternative with a build envelope measuring 250 × 250 × 300 mm.

Both Raptor models will be available in a TM version, featuring the proprietary ThermoMelt process for high-performance industrial parts. The Raptor TM series delivers high-density parts at a low cost structure because of an increased strength in Z direction. The use of high-performance polymers formerly required high process temperatures, which generate significant thermal aging of the polymer and make it difficult to reuse high-cost materials like polyetherketoneketone (PEKK), polyphthalamide (PPA) and polyphenylene sulfide (PPS), the company says. By operating at lower temperatures, ThermoMelt on the Raptor TM series is said to avoid thermal aging and enable 95 percent recyclability of these polymers.
