The Dow Chemical Company has launched a 3D-printing polyethylene-based build material as part of its Evolv3D platform of 3D-printing solutions. Evolv3D Olefin Block Copolymer (OBC) printing filament enables the production of lightweight, durable parts and is remoldable for an extended lifespan, the company says.
Dow’s Evolv3D platform is designed to address leading issues within the 3D printing industry, focusing on sustainability with the introduction of the OBC filament, according to the company.
As part of its 2025 sustainability goals, Dow has committed to valuing nature and advancing the circular economy by taking into account a product’s complete lifecycle during the development process. Dow also intends to develop a recycling program for end users who use the Evolv3D OBC material. By recycling this product via Dow, end users can gain access to a future product line of 3D-printing materials made of recycled materials.
