Additive manufacturing (AM) is moving from the model and tooling shop onto the factory floor as a growing range of firms use AM to create innovative products that could not be produced conventionally. For AM to be successful as a mainstream technology, a number of processes and tools as well as controls are needed.

Marc Saunders, director of Renishaw's Global Solutions Centers, will discuss the motivation behind this change in AM and the increased demands that series production places to deliver predictable, consistent parts during the upcoming Additive Manufacturing Conference, co-located with IMTS 2016. Saunders’ presentation takes place at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, September 14 in room W375-B.
