AM Conference Speaker: NASA

Dr. Paul McConnaughey of NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center will highlight how AM is essential to deep space exploration.

NASA is pioneering the use of 3D printers in space through partnerships and research, and a talk at the 2017 Additive Manufacturing Conference by Dr. Paul McConnaughey, technical associate director at NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center in Hunstville, Alabama, will highlight how AM is essential to the success of human exploration of deep space. The talk will cover the need for AM technology that will produce certified parts for use in engines that will take humans farther into space than ever before, and Dr. McConnaughey will also discuss opportunities to partner with NASA based on the future needs of AM in space.

The presentation takes place during lunch on Wednesday, October 11, at 12:15 p.m.
