AM Conference: Solve Additive Manufacturing Challenges Through Simulation

Gene Granata of CGTech explains how Vericut simulation software can solve additive manufacturing challenges at the 2018 Additive Manufacturing Conference. 

The growing availability of hybrid machines that combine additive and subtractive processes offers enormous potential for design innovation and enable manufacturers to produce components never before possible. But with that potential also comes greater complexity in the manufacturing process, and more opportunities for machine crashes and errors. CGTech’s Vericut 8.2 software provides one way to prove out processes in advance, realistically simulating material deposition, cutting operations and machine motion. 

In a presentation at the 2018 Additive Manufacturing Conference, Gene Granata, Vericut product manager, will explain how the developer was able to identify potential additive manufacturing challenges and learn how to correct them in the NC code through collaborations with partners such as the Connecticut Center for Advanced Technology (CCAT). The presentation takes place Tuesday, September 11, at 3:45 p.m.
