Metal additive manufacturing is taking off, but AM overall still only occupies a small percentage of manufacturing technology. If the value of additive is in the end product more than the process, as Renishaw believes, then more needs to be done to propel additive technologies to the next market level. The company has identified three “boosters” that will accelerate the adoption of additive manufacturing for a wider range of users.

Marc Saunders, director of global solution centers at Renishaw, will talk about those boosters at the 2018 Additive Manufacturing Conference taking place September 11 and 12 in Chicago. Saunders will share practical ways that those in the manufacturing industry can 1) reduce the cost of additively manufactured parts, 2) streamline process validation and quality assurance, and 3) extend the capability of additive manufacturing equipment. The presentation will take place on Wednesday, September 12 at 10:45 a.m.
