3D Systems introduces the DMP Flex 350 and DMP Factory 350, designed for production of components for industrial applications such as aerospace, healthcare and transportation. The 3D printing machines are designed for repeatable metal additive manufacturing for R&D, application development and production.

The Flex 350 is said to efficiently produce dense, pure metal parts and includes gas flow technology for uniform part quality across the build area. Additionally, this machine’s print productivity of 15 percent enables faster time to market. The Flex 350 can be upgraded to the Factory 350 on-site.

The Factory 350 combines the same features the Flex 350 with integrated powder management. A viewing panel enables visual inspection of the ultrasonic sieve to ensure incident-free operation. The machine includes monitoring via the company’s DMP Monitoring that enables analysis and optimization parameters for quality parts. Both machines include the company’s 3DXpert 14.

The company has also launched an aluminum alloy material, LaserForm AISiMg0.6 (A), designed to produce strong, lightweight, parts without the need for casting. LaserForm AlSi7Mg0.6 (A) is designed to produce strong, lightweight parts that improve fuel efficiency for transportation and other weight-sensitive applications. According to the company, the material's corrosion resistance, high thermal conductivity, electrical ductility and good weldability, make it suitable for applications such as housings, mold inserts, impellers and heat exchangers. This material is compatible with both the Flex 350 and Factory 350.
