3D-Hybrid announces tools designed to simplify metal additive manufacturing as printing tools for existing CNC machines. The tools lower the cost of metal AM, increase speed and offer capabilities including multi-material parts.
Just like using different cutting tools for different metals, the company offers different printing tools for different applications. Through its experience on polymetallic alloy AM for aerospace and research applications, 3D-Hybrid has diversified its portfolio with directed energy methods based on electrical, optical and kinetic energy.
The company guides its customers in finding the best solution for the application. Its technologies include wire-arc additive manufacturing, laser metal deposition, and cold spray. The wire-arc tool uses dip-transfer technology for hybrid manufacturing, offering an economical AM approach for alloys that are reflective to laser wavelengths. The laser tool enables a wide variety of feedstock options from wire to blending powder materials for gradient and custom alloy generation. The cold spray tool is suited for additive manufacturing of alloys with high thermal conductivity.
