Moldmakers Inc./MGS Tooling has been using additive manufacturing (AM) for years to produce conformal and near-conformal cooling channels in molds, but is now experimenting with AM to create temporary inserts and other mold components. At this year’s Amerimold conference, Kevin Klotz, MGS senior project engineer, will present the company’s findings in evaluating stereolithography (SLA) against layer additive technology, and also evaluating three common resins used to build additive parts. Attend the session on Wednesday, June 15, at 8 a.m. to learn how this evaluation helped the company determine how to invest in AM technology.
