When initial analysis of the design for a sealing plug revealed that it could not be economically produced via conventional injection molding, Hasco turned to a prototyping method that combines standard mold components with 3D-printed cores, cavities and slide faces. This accelerated prototyping strategy helped quickly determine the proper shape and size of the part for moldability, and revealed other insights into how to best produce it.

Brenda Clark, engineering manager for Hasco America, will speak about this application during Amerimold 2016, on Thursday, June 16, at 11 a.m.
