Machine tool builder DMG MORI sees several major trends occurring in additive manufacturing equipment, including larger machines that can support bigger builds, higher-powered lasers and improved deposition rates. Hybrid machines (such as DMG MORI's Lasertec 65 3D) that combine additive manufacturing and subtractive capabilities are also on the rise, making it possible to integrate AM and machining processes, deposit multiple materials onto the same workpiece and more.

Dr. Greg Hyatt, senior vice president of DMG MORI, will deliver a presentation during the Additive Manufacturing Conference discussing how advances in AM now enable building a wider range of components more productively, reducing cost-per-part. The talk takes place September 13 at 9:45 a.m. The conference is co-located with IMTS 2016 in Chicago, Illinois, and sessions will take place in Room W375-B.
