Additive Manufacturing with Composites at Carbon Fiber 2015
A cofounder of Arevo Labs will give a presentation on 3D printing with carbon fiber-reinforced polymers.
Riley Reese, cofounder of Arevo Labs, will speak about additive manufacturing with composites during the Carbon Fiber 2015 conference, happening December 8-10 in Knoxville, Tennessee. The event focuses on new developments in carbon fiber and its applications in the aerospace, medical and other industries.
Arevo Labs, based in San Francisco, California, has developed an additive manufacturing method it calls reinforced filament fusion. This process involves 3D printing with high-performance polymers that are reinforced with carbon fiber, glass fiber or carbon nanotubes. Using the company’s custom software, it is possible to control the orientation of the fibers during deposition. This capability, in combination with a robotic five-axis platform, enables continuous printing even along curved surfaces.
