AM Conference Speaker: Sodick

A talk by Sodick’s additive business development manager will trace the journey of one AM user from traditional manufacturing to AM and hybrid manufacturing, exploring the questions and opportunities at each transition.

Hybrid machines such as Sodick’s OPM250L, which combines laser sintering with high-speed machining capabilities, enable manufacturing features and components that would not be possible with either process alone.  Evan Syverson, additive business development manager at Sodick, will trace the journey of one AM user who moved from traditional manufacturing to AM and then to hybrid manufacturing in a talk at the 2017 Additive Manufacturing Conference. He will also discuss the questions and opportunities that occurred at each transition. The process perspective will illustrate how additive manufacturing was introduced into existing processes, explore limitations of AM and differentiate areas that are best suited for hybrid manufacturing capabilities.

The session takes place Thursday, October 12, at 11:30 a.m.
